Our Mission

Inspired by a desire to address climate change and empower contractors with the tools needed to build sustainable businesses, we started Sunstone to meet the moment.

Electricity production is the single largest contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, so to tackle climate change and reach decarbonization goals, every segment of the solar market needs to thrive. However small and medium businesses have been left behind by the recent boom in solar due to a lack of accessible financing options. Sunstone was started to address this.

After scaling Sunstone’s solar vertical, we realized that contractors across the country and across verticals were increasingly relying on financing for their residential business but they didn’t have a compelling option for their small and medium sized business customers. This meant that the businesses we all know and love, that make our communities special and help us with essential services were having to forego or delay important upgrades to their roof or HVAC systems. They were using more electricity than necessary because energy efficiency upgrades can be expensive and they were being left behind by the future because things like EV Charge Stations required too much upfront capital.

Sunstone was built to meet this challenge and give every business the opportunity to do what they need to do to improve their facility, make the right investments and grow healthy, sustainable, communities.
